Our take
This LG UltraGear is a fantastic monitor for the price. The 27-inch QHD IPS panel looks crisp and colors pop right out of the box. At 165Hz with 1ms, games feel incredibly fluid, and FreeSync eliminates tearing. I love the slim bezels and adjustable stand—height, tilt, and pivot. Being refurbished, I was worried, but mine came in excellent condition with no dead pixels. The only downside is the 300-nit brightness, which is average, and the lack of USB ports. Also, the 1000:1 contrast ratio is typical for IPS, but blacks aren't as deep as VA. Still, for $160, it's a steal for competitive gaming.
